Choices
Genesis 3:4-6: And the serpent said to the woman, you shall not surely die, for God knows that in the day you eat of it, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as God, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasing to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make wise, she took of its fruit, and ate. During next week we will see two elections taking place which the outcome of will in many ways impact the future. On 3 November it is the USA midterms and on 4 November the local and provincial elections in South Africa. As Christians in a divided world we can do little to influence; yet we can do a lot by praying for the outcome.
Whether election or any other decision; every decision we make impacts on us. From Eve in Genesis to choosing to pick the fruit; to Judas choosing to betray Jesus we see that all choices have not only consequences for today but for eternity. We do not have a magic ball to see the future; but we do have our God given gifts to help us to discern the right choice.
Be encouraged today to use your God given gifts of discernment wisely.
David
