Romans 9:1-3a: I am speaking the truth; I belong to Christ and I do not lie. My conscience, ruled by the Holy Spirit, also assures me that I am not lying when I say how great is my sorrow, how endless the pain in my heart for my people, my own flesh and blood!

The situation that we all face is when we speak the truth about what we believe in in whom we believe. When asked about our faith most of us will reply: Christian; yet we miss the point when we say Christian as this means the anointed of Christ. The words we speak should reflect that we belong to Christ.

The Holy Spirit rules our conscience and because of that we speak the truth. The result is that we should be like Paul and have great sorrow and endless pain the heart for our own people; our own flesh and blood who know not Jesus Christ. We may tend to read this text about the experience of Paul; but should we not share that same experience.

Be encouraged today to speak the truth that you belong to Christ.
