The hope of eternity
Psalm 17:15: As for me, in righteousness I will look upon Your face; when I awaken, I shall be satisfied by Your image.
There are times when we are sad and filled with loss of a loved one. Last week on Wednesday evening a dear friend Lisa Stander passed away after a long struggle in hospital and then on Friday afternoon another dear friend Gisela Kegel passed away as well. These two beautiful Christian sisters have journeyed with me in ministry and they will be sadly mourned. When we walk with the Lord; we walk not alone for He gave us companions for the path we are all on.
Death has not parted us; for Jesus has conquered death. As the Psalmist has written that when we awaken we will look upon the face of Jesus and we shall be satisfied with what we see. In the years of preaching and teaching these companions have been faithful and true; what we hoped for has now become their reality. We do not lose hope in death; but know that what we hope for is beyond death.
Be encouraged today to be filled with the joy that our parted friends are alive in Jesus Christ.
David
Point to ponder: We walk not alone for Jesus gives us companions to share the journey.
Question to consider: Do you take comfort in the promises of the Lord?
