Kingdom of Heaven

Matthew 13:44: Again, the kingdom of Heaven is compared to treasure being hidden in the field, which finding, a man hid; and for the joy of it, he goes and sells all things, as many as he has, and buys that field.

Having been involved in bible study for over forty years one tends to take much for granted; yet even so every time we open God’s Word there is always a new revelation. Matthew 13 is known as the chapter of parables and every parable has a lesson for us to learn; sometimes we understand this way and another time a different way. Reading these verses that the kingdom of Heaven is compared to; we do not get a comprehensive answer of a description of the kingdom of Heaven.

The mustard seed planted by a man grows into a massive tree; a little bit of leaven is enough to cause the bread to rise; a precious pearl; a net full of fish and sea food. Yet all these points to the great magnitude; the immeasurable bounty; a kingdom of plenty; a place where no matter the value we place on it; it is beyond our concept. The kingdom of Heaven is a place where all comes home; a place where even a little is more than enough; think on this and ask yourself what these parables are teaching you?

Be encouraged today to read the parables as something the Lord wants to teach you and for you to know.

David

Point to ponder: All parables have a meaning for you.
