Wrestle with God
Genesis 32:28: And He said, your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, because you have wrestled with God and with men, and have prevailed.
Is it possible that a man may wrestle with God? When God wrestled with Jacob; God was a man and they wrestled all night. As we think on this we need to ask ourselves does a man still wrestle with God today.
I know that there have been times when I have wrestled in prayer and there were times that prayer kept me awake. It is in this context that I believe we all wrestle with God in prayer and there are times when His touch changes us. In some ways it is these times of struggle that we need to be reminded that because of Jacob struggling with God that he received a new name.
Be encouraged today to never give in when we wrestle in prayer with God.
David
Point to ponder: Prayer is like a good wrestle hold.
Question to consider: Do you wrestle with God in prayer?
